The Altar Guild
As a quiet ministry, vital for the smooth functioning of services, the Altar Guild is responsible for set-up and clean-up for regularly scheduled Eucharists as well as for weddings, funerals and other special commemorations during the Christian year. Members on duty for the week prepare the sacramental vessels, linens, hangings, candles and other furnishings prior to each service and clean and put away all materials at the conclusion of each Eucharist. The linens are then laundered and ironed. Guild members serve singly about once every seven weeks. We are always delighted to welcome new members to the Altar Guild; simple training is provided and newcomers will be paired with experienced members.
