Grace and peace. Advent is quickly sliding away. It seems to do this every year. The parishioners of St. Patrick’s are so generous during this time of year. This generosity is seen in the time, talent, and treasure shared with our neighbors. In the first Sunday of Advent, we made over 800 cookies for So Others Might Eat (SOME) which were delivered last Sunday by the St. Patrick’s breakfast crew (see photos below). This Sunday, we will deliver over 100 Christmas dinner bags to St. Philip’s in Anacostia, and our youth will carol at Sibley Hospital’s Oasis unit (see below to sign up). And then we will be on the downhill slope for Christmas where we will share our spirit and love with the many people who join us to celebrate Jesus’ presence among us.
December is also a time that many of our members fulfill their pledge to St. Patrick’s by writing a check, wiring securities, or by making a mandatory distribution in the form of a gift from their 401K (for those who are at least 70.5 years old). Instructions for donating stock have changed since last year [New Instructions]. If you need any assistance in making donations, please let us know.
You are bringing light into the world. I am thankful for your generosity.
