From the Rector
Grace and peace. The Way of Love has been an amazing experience. I am thankful for my colleagues (The Rev. Jenifer Gamber, The Rev. Yoimel Gonzalez Hernandez, and Michael Palmisano) who have or will be sharing their insight on these core practices during this series. At each of the adult forums, it has also been our practice to offer practical suggestions for deepening your own experience in each of these areas: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, Rest. We are doing this because Presiding Bishop Michael Curry asked all Episcopalians to commit to transforming our lives by adopting these principles. After the 8-week Way of Love series concludes on March 3, I challenge every member of St. Patrick’s to create a Rule of Life that will serve as a discipline during the season of Lent. I hope that you will write down your plan and share it with the Church and with a partner who can help you be accountable. We will bless these new rules of life at services on Ash Wednesday (March 6) and on the 1st Sunday of Lent (March 10). Catch up with the series with the sermons and suggestions found for download on our website.
Tomorrow is not only Valentine’s Day, it is also when our new Parish Administrator, Mary Beth Howard, will begin her tenure at St. Patrick’s. Those of us in the office are very excited to welcome her into our family. You will hear more from Mary Beth as she gets used to the rhythm of St. Patrick’s.
