Grace and peace. This first day of Lent instills an important practice of Christianity and other major religions. It reminds us that we are not the center of existence and that we are responsible for making adjustments in our lives. I attended services on Ash Wednesday from my earliest years. It was later in life that I realized how important the practices instilled on this day and in the season of Lent are to my spiritual life and really to my very way of being. I hope that you will begin a Holy Lent today. I am confident that working on this practice will fulfill your spiritual hunger as it has mine. You can still join us for Ash Wednesday service tonight at 7:30.
Tomorrow morning, I will join a team from St. Patrick’s on a visit to our mission partners at St. Etienne in Haiti. Some of the group members will share their experiences on Haiti Sunday (March 11).
