Grace and peace. In just a few weeks, the season after Epiphany will end and Lent will begin. Lent is a time of preparation. I will write more about this sacred season of 40 days in a few weeks. There will be several opportunities for preparation including Alpha, the Hope Initiative, and the High School Confirmation program. The Rev. Don Bitsberger will offering Bits of Bible on open Sundays in Lent beginning on Sunday, March 5 and on March 12 we will welcome Mr. Matt Zeller from No One Left Behind, a local refugee resettlement non-profit. I would encourage you to do some reading during this Lenten season. I point you to an e-book sale for some great Lenten themed books:
A Way Other Than Our Own by Walter Brueggemann $3.99 at Amazon
Jesus The Final Days by Craig A. Evans and N.T. Wright $3.99 at Amazon and Google
40 Days, 40 Prayers, 40 Words by Bruce Reyes-Chow $2.99 at Amazon, Apple, B&N, and Google
I am looking forward to upcoming events at St. Patrick’s including Jazz Sunday and Pancake Breakfast on February 26, the Mini-Musical on March 5, and St. Patrick’s Feast Day on March 19.
