Grace and peace. Over the long weekend, I traveled with a team from St. Patrick’s to our partner parish, St. Etienne, in Haiti. It was a very meaningful and impactful trip. We witnessed the success of our parish in educating the young people and preparing them for life in Haiti. We also saw a vibrant worshiping community being led by Pere Milor. I am excited to share more about our experience on Haiti Sunday on March 11 and look forward to returning to Haiti in June with some of our youth. I can assure you that their experiences in Haiti will change their perspective on many things.
Just before I left, there was a tragic shooting at a high school in Florida. Gun violence is a scourge on our way of life. St. Patrick’s has volunteered its space to house protesters for the March For Our Lives on March 24. We will need parishioners to help with hospitality. In the next few weeks, we will provide more information. In the meantime, let me know if you are interested in helping.
