Grace and peace. There is so much good going on at St. Patrick’s thanks to you. We are building some great small groups including the new Friday Pizza Night for families with children 3-7 years old that begins this Friday at 6:30pm. If you didn’t this past week, I hope that you will participate in a focus group this Sunday after both of our services.
Also in 2018, our Live Generously Stewardship campaign brought in more than our target amount. Yes, you heard that right, we are over budget with 2018 pledges. This surplus will help us recover from a few years of deficit (2014-2016), but we will also be putting it to good use for our future ministry.
The parishioners of St. Patrick’s blessed us with more donations in 2017 than we planned. Yes, we had people who donated more than the amount they pledged in 2017. We are staying active in various activities. We had 35 people at the National Geographic Museum a few weeks ago. We had fifteen St. Patrick’s young people helping on the day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. at Washington Hebrew Congregation. We are looking forward to Game Night on January 28th. We will celebrate the life of Tucker Battle on January 27th at 2pm.
We are being the church right here in our neighborhood. I hope you can feel God taking hold here at St. Patrick’s. We have so much to offer and so many loving people making it happen every day. We can always do better, but only with your commitment to this wonderful community. I am so glad to serve as your rector.
