Grace and peace. The nave is closed. As I mentioned on Sunday, the nave floors are being refinished and the work began yesterday. The nave will be closed for the next 3-4 Sundays, so we will be worshipping in the Great Hall. As I sit in my office writing this note to you, I can hear several projects taking place on our campus. The front driveway is begin torn up to fix some underlying water issues. As a result, the courtyard entrance is not accessible. Please use the East Lot door. The playground on the hill behind the church is being renovated. These two projects are expected to be completed by the first of September.
We need altar servers at St. Patrick’s. In my background and at many churches, altar servers or acolytes are adults and youth. The role is to provide leadership during services by carrying the cross, helping the clergy set the table for communion, and lighting and extinguishing the candles. We have one active server right now and that is not nearly enough. I am looking for youth (middle school or older) and adults to volunteer to help. Please let me know if you or someone you know is interested in learning to do this important ministry.
