Grace and peace. It is summer and so many people are on vacation. That is the way of things at this time of year. I hope that you are being rejuvenated and are ready to engage the needs of the world when you return. You might even transform things while you are in a different place. I am making plans for the upcoming program year. Beginning on September 12, I will be teaching a Tuesday evening class on the life of Moses. The book that corresponds to this study is Adam Hamilton’s Moses: In the Footsteps of a Reluctant Prophet. We have used Hamilton’s books in previous studies, like Making Sense of the Bibleand The Call. This study will be reinforced by readings about Moses in our Sunday lectionary. Save Tuesday evenings for this series.
We had the blessing of celebrating the life of the Rev. Don Bitsberger this past Sunday afternoon. Many from St. Patrick’s were there and others were there in spirit. If you missed it, the sermon from that service is available online. This week, we broke ground on the new columbarium section in memory of Peter Jobusch (see picture). The masonry work will be completed this week and the stone front will be added within the next month. This will be a lasting memorial to Peter Jobusch and an eternal home to many from St. Patrick’s.
