Grace and peace. This past Sunday, we heard from our partner priest from Haiti Pere Milor. I had the pleasure of hosting him at my home. He is a great leader for St. Etienne, our partner parish, and I look forward to continuing the partnership for years to come. If you have been around St. Patrick’s, you know that Day School teacher Marcy Ference is a pivotal member of our Haiti ministry. She has been part of the partnership since it began in 1979. At the end of this academic year, she will be retiring from St. Patrick’s. She will not be here full-time, but she does plan to stay involved with Haiti mission work. The Haiti Committee, with a gift from the Day School in Marcy’s honor, is working to finance the building of four new classrooms at St. Etienne that will be named for Marcy Ference. If you would like to contribute, send a check to St. Patrick’s with “Marcy Ference Classrooms” in the memo line or donate online here by choosing "Social Concerns: Haiti" in the drop down menu, and "Marcy Ference Classrooms" in the note line.
There are only two weeks left of Sunday School for this program year. Beginning on Memorial Day Weekend, we will switch to our summer schedule with one service at 10am. During the summer, I will be trying something new during our sermon time. We will offer a short children's message followed by an adult sermon. The sermons will be slightly shorter, and I will be working on delivering the sermons from in front of the altar and not from a manuscript. I will be seeking your input on how this is going along the way. I will talk more about this new offering in a couple of weeks.
