LITURGICAL LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS (LLEMS)
Lay Eucharistic Ministers have long been a valuable ministry of the Church. St. Patrick's is blessed with 18 individuals who accept the Rector‘s invitation to serve in the distribution of the sacred elements of Holy Eucharist to the people of God...young and old, male and female, of diverse skin colors, parishioners and visitors. Six of these individuals serve as server and LLEM at the 8 am service only.
I wish to thank each of our LLEMs who serve so faithfully and humbly in this ministry throughout the year. One LLEM remarked recently: "When I am down, I think of all the blessings in my life. One which always comes to mind for which I am so very grateful is being able to serve at the Eucharist. To see the outstretched hands, to look into the faces of so many, is such a very special time and a time of great joy and gratitude."
To become a LLEM, you must be invited by the Rector to serve and be licensed by the Bishop. If you would like to explore this ministry, please don‘t hesitate to contact me by phone at 202-342-2800 or by email at churchoffice@stpatdsc.org.
