The Rev. Dr. Kurt Gerhard became the Eighth Rector of St. Patrick's in April of 2010. Prior to his ministry here, he served churches and schools in Lincoln, Nebraska and Austin, Texas. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Kurt earned a M.Div. from the Seminary of the Southwest and a D.Min. in Educational Leadership from the Virginia Theological Seminary. His culminating project focused on adolescents planning and leading worship at Episcopal Schools. As the Rector, he chairs the Vestry, oversees the ministries of St. Patrick's, leads worship, and provides pastoral support. He also serves on the St. Patrick's Day School Board. On the Diocesan level, Kurt has served on the Diocesan Council and currently serves as the chair of the Commission on Ministry, the Convention Resolutions Committee, and is a deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church. Additionally, Kurt serves on the Diocese of Washington Camp EDOW Steering Committee and was the Program Director for the first two years of Camp EDOW and serves as the chaplain for a week at Camp Wright in the Diocese of Easton.
