Adele Lynch, PhD

Music Director

Adele Lynch has been the Director of Music and Organist since 1994. Dr. Lynch completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore in 1993. She also holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in music from the University of Texas and has been the recipient of awards and scholarships including induction into the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society for Music.

As an international competitor, Dr. Lynch was one of eight finalists chosen to compete in the André Marchal organ competition in Biarritz, France and the only American competitor in the Franz Liszt competition in Budapest, Hungary in 1994. She has a strong interest in the music of Liszt and other 19th century composers and served as treasurer for the American Liszt Society for many years.

As an Episcopal church musician, she has served on the Washington Diocesan Committee on Liturgy and Music. She has also chaired the annual Interfaith Concert which brings together musicians and artists from eight religious traditions for a concert attended by over 2,000 people each year in a celebration of diversity and community.
