The Trinity

Grace and peace to you, dear beloved community. This Sunday, June 16, will be a big day for St. Patrick’s as we celebrate Trinity Sunday, one of the seven principal feasts of the church year. The Trinity—one God, three in one—makes clear the centrality of humility and dynamism in the Christian life. Like the Trinity, we are called into a community of mutuality and love.

This Sunday we welcome Wendy Claire Barrie, Program Manager for Children and Youth at Trinity Wall Street and author of Faith at Home, who will guest preach and be available for conversation after the service. Signed copies of her book will be for sale. On a personal note, this Sunday will be the first time I preside at the Eucharist after being ordained a priest on Saturday! Following the service will be a grand reception, including the opportunity to create a personal “church-to-go” box filled with summer travel activities for children.

This Sunday also marks the beginning of our summer sermon series, “Living Baptism.” We invite the entire community to join us to splash in the waters of baptism all summer long! Each Sunday we will hear about what it means to follow Jesus, as a lead up to baptisms on August 4th when we will be renewing our baptismal promises and baptizing new members into the household of God. Every Sunday following the service will feature a faith-at-home activity for every generation. During the 10 a.m. service, the first Sunday of each month will feature a children’s sermon, while the final Sunday will feature Children’s Chapel with Godly Play, a playful entry into stories of the Bible.
